Walnut Hill Church Weekly Letter

Wednesday, February 20, 2013

Greetings to all!

The spring's EOS (Exploring Our Spirituality) season overlaps with Lent.
Whether participating in an EOS activity or pursuing your own personal
lenten practice, the following prayer might be useful...

God, Father and Mother of us all:  We thank you, for you call us to be your
children and surround us with signs of your love.  Open our hearts to your
love and make us aware of the fullness of your peace.
We thank you, God, for placing confidence in us, for challenging us to
freedom, for teaching us not to be afraid, for forgiving us, and showing
us how to forgive others, for calling us to build a community of love.
God, open our hearts to your Spirit dwelling within us, so we might
listen to your call, so we might live a life of service and of love, so we
might help proclaim justice and freedom in our land, so we might accept
more fully your Word, and grasp the mysterious depths of your love.
God, we pray that what we share [in this season] enriches our lives
and allows us to experience your goodness and your glory.  Amen.
