Glossolalia and the Embarrassment of Experience
Glossolalia, or "speaking in tongues," has been and continues to be a
divisive phenomenon in the Christian experience. Sunday's video
presentation will explore this manifestation of spiritual possession. We
will review Paul's discussion of this experience, its relation to the
supposed "subversive" power of women, why it was discarded in the
early church, and its recent revival in "charismatic" Christianity.
(Nursery care will be available for children.)
